Purpose

Project Purpose is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring, educational
awareness, and volunteer work in the DMV area serving minority and marginalized
communities.

Project Purpose’s mission is to foster a diverse and safe space for our community to
flourish. We aim to provide various types of resources to ensure stability, health, and excellence within our community. Our volunteers hold different backgrounds in degrees, expertise, and lifestyles. We aim not only to be a resource to the community but also to educate them as well through various initiatives ranging from Black History, Foster Care Awareness, and Diabetes Awareness.

Executive Director, India Richey created Project Purpose as a platform in the DMV area
to increase support in the community ranging from financial to mental health. Project Purpose
was created to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Through mentorship, educational
awareness, and volunteer work, Project Purpose can serve as a direct resource to youth and those in need.

Our Founders

INDIA RICHEY
CEO & FOUNDER
Founder and Executive Director of Project Purpose LLC has a passion for helping people and advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. She is a graduate from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration. She has worked for numerous non profit organizations specializing in mentoring, sports and youth activities. She is currently the Event Coordinator for the Nyumburu Cultural Center at University of Maryland, College Park. In doing this, Project Purpose has the fundamental foundation of supporting and creating programs to ensure the youth in urban communities with a diverse skill set and knowledgeable practices.
BREON PURNELL
CO-FOUNDER & IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
As IT Specialist, Mr. Purnell is tasked with all the needs of Project Purpose on a technological level. He is responsible for the organization’s online presence and brand. Breon is a graduate of Year Up and specializing in Information Technology. He has worked in the IT field for multiple organizations such as TekSystems, Serco, and Exelon.


MORGAN LITTLEFORD
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR & SOCIAL
MEDIA COORDINATOR
Morgan graduated from Central Penn College with a Bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications. She was a collegiate member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and SGA President. During her term as President, she helped to implement a food pantry on campus for students in need. She likes to give back and help others, that is why she loves being a mentor and she is a critical part of Project Purpose.

KAMYRA SPANN
SECRETARY
Kamyra graduated from Trinity Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services and Business Administration. She is currently enrolled in a Master’s program for Public Health specializing in Community Health. She is a super motivated, dedicated, and passionate person. She thrives on and enjoys when she can help someone no matter how big or small the task.

MAYA LONON
TREASURER
Maya received her Bachelor’s degree from Towson University in May of 2019. Since then, she has been working full-time with the DON in a recent Graduate program. She loves anything involving food, love, and laughter. She is so excited to be a part of Project Purpose. Maya is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
